Dear Friends and Neighbors,

 

When I visit the library these days, I sometimes have to pinch myself. There was a time when the library was a place to borrow books and bring your toddler to storytime. Of course you can still borrow books and enjoy storytime at the Yonkers Public Library, but now there is so much more. And the Foundation for the Yonkers Public Library has been able to help YPL make some of the most innovative new programs possible, from 1000 Books Before Kindergarten to our Seed Library. 

 

As our community continues to grow, so will our library system. YPL’s Long Range Plan, published in 2023, outlined exciting new ways for the organization to serve Yonkers, from expanding access to physical and online materials, to continuing to innovate in programming within and beyond its walls. Just this year, plans were announced to identify a location for a fourth branch. The Foundation for the YPL will be there to help YPL execute these ambitious plans at every step of the way.
