Yonkers, NY, March 15, 2022 - The Foundation for the Yonkers Public Library (FYPL) will host its annual Gala on Wednesday May 11, from 6 – 9 pm at the Grinton I. Will Branch at 1500 Central Avenue.
This is the first in-person event that the Foundation has held since COVID disrupted plans in 2020. The FYPL is planning an event to celebrate the optimism of springtime and the receding of the pandemic. The Gala will celebrate the tenures of two beloved Library Directors, Ed Falcone and Susan Thaler. “We are delighted to finally have the opportunity to really celebrate the careers of Ed and Susan,” said Foundation President Nancy Maron. “Their contributions over many years helped to position the Yonkers Public Library (YPL) for a bright future.”
The theme of the event, Revive, Refresh, Renew! captures the exuberance of Spring and a first look at the early planning of the major re-envisioning of the Will Branch’s interior.
Guests will enjoy exploring the indoor and outdoor spaces of the Library, with:

Tickets for the fundraising Gala are $150. Discounted tickets will also be offered for educators, librarians, and students. Funds raised will support educational and cultural programming.
