Book Lovers Pack the House for Mary Calvi Author Talk

On Saturday, February 23rd, The Foundation for the Yonkers Public Library hosted a free Book Talk with Mary Calvi, TV Journalist, Yonkers First Lady, and author of Dear George, Dear Mary: A Novel of George Washington’s First Love. Over 250 book enthusiasts and fans converged upon Riverfront Library for a revealing talk with historical accounts drawn from Calvi’s years of extensive research.

Audience listens to Calvi discuss her research into Yonkers' heiress Mary Phillipse.

The talk was followed by a book signing, with Womrath Book Shop on hand. The Foundation was delighted to partner with Yonkers Public Schools for the event. Dozens of students attended the talk and, students from Roosevelt High School’s Business and Media Communications Magnet documented the evening.
