Dear Friends and Neighbors,

What’s your library story?

Maybe you remember going to your favorite branch library as a kid and taking out as many books as you could carry. Perhaps you have fond memories of story hours or music time with your kids. Maybe the library was the place where, as an adult, you were delighted to learn a new skill.

Our goal as a foundation is to make even more library stories possible.

Your generous support will allow the Yonkers Public Library to continue to focus on youth literacy through fantastic programs such as Homework Help, Reading Buddies, and 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. Last year, Homework Help provided more than 3,000 after school assistance sessions to first through seventh grade students. Reading Buddies paired 1,000 children with mentors in the library

who helped those children to improve their reading skills. Our newest program, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, encourages early literacy by providing books, reading lists, and prizes for local children who read 1,000 books before they start school. These programs help our youngest neighbors to create their own library stories.

Your gift will not only help to inspire these stories but also create a pathway to success for our youngest minds. This tax-deductible donation to the Foundation will support free educational programming in all branches of the Yonkers Public Library.

Thank you for your commitment to our library and our community.

We want to hear YOUR story! Share it with us here.

See you at the library!
