An urban planner by profession, Jaime is the Executive Director of the Yonkers Downtown Business Improvement District.  An active member of the Yonkers community, Jaime is also a member of the Yonkers Lions Club, the Yonkers Mexican Chamber of Commerce and a coach at St. Peters School. 

Jaime grew up in a house where reading was a priority, with over 5,000 books in the house.  His favorite books growing up were The Girl with the Silver Eyes, A Wrinkle in Time and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.  The works of Malcolm X, Edward Said and Howard Zinn influenced his world-view, while his favorite fiction authors are Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Julia Alvarez, and J. K. Rowling.  Jaime joined the FYPL understanding of the central role that the Public Library plays in the community, often providing access to the resources that so many in our community cannot afford on their own.
