Edward Falcone is the Director of the Yonkers Public Library, Westchester's largest and busiest library. Prior assignments have included directorships at the Ossining Public Library and the Field Library in Peekskill. Edward was a three-time president of the Public Library Directors Association of Westchester, treasurer of the New York Library Association, and a founding member of NYLA’s Library Administration and Management Section. Currently, he is on the Board of the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce, and the Advisory Board of the Yonkers Basics initiative.
A Brooklyn native, Edward started his library career as a part-time “page”, or book shelver, at the Brooklyn Public Library. This experience inspired his education and career choice. While at BPL, he served in over 25 neighborhood libraries in New York’s most diverse and populous borough. Edward is married to Elena, also a librarian. Their family has happily called Westchester County their home for over 30 years.
